The passenger fleet on the Kish route is covered by Iran Air, Mahan Air, Caspian, Zagros, Kish Air and Aseman. The planes of Kish International Airport include Airbus in different classes, Fokker 100, McDonnell Douglas M-D, etc., and we intend to introduce models of these planes.

Many airlines have daily and weekly flights to Kish. Some of these airlines are also active in foreign flights to Kish. Here we introduce these airlines.

Airbus 320
320 is one of the models of the airplane that travels in the Kish air fleet. The capacity of this Airbus is 150 people and it is the first Airbus that uses the wire flight control system; Among the advantages of this system is the reduction of human intervention and it is controlled by computer. The transmitter of this Airbus uses electronic signals, which is faster than the mechanical mode. Airbus 320's fuel consumption is very low, and this model is one of the best-selling single-aisle airplanes.
Airbus aircraft models are as follows:
A321-100: The basic model of this plane
A321-200: the model with longer flight length and optimized structure

Airbus A320 specifications

Flight range: 6100 km
Airbus A321 specifications

The youngest Airbus aircraft
In 2017, the youngest plane in Iran arrived at Kish International Airport. Kish Airport bought this Airbus due to the increase of domestic and foreign tourists to provide the infrastructure of the island's tourism industry.

Airbus 321 made the first flight from Kish to Mashhad. This Airbus is economical for distances of 3 hours and above and is not used for short distances. Airbus 321 was produced in 2007 and was used for international flights from Kish. This plane has a capacity of 170 people. The arrangement of seats in this model can be 199 seats in economy mode or 142 seats in economy mode and 28 seats in business mode. In its class, in addition to optimal fuel consumption, this aircraft has less sound and noise than other aircraft of the same level.

The engine used in 321 with a torque of 4000 Nm is from the CFM56 and V2500 models; Although the engine used has not changed much compared to its previous model, i.e. 320, but 20% of energy consumption has been optimized. Two turbofan engines are placed under the two wings of the plane and the maximum speed of this model is 870 km/h.

The main difference of this short-range plane with the previous generation is in the design of the cabin. Airbus 321 cabin is longer and narrower and has bigger tires to bear more weight.

Airbus company released the 321 model in two versions, A321-100 and A321-200. Its 100 model does not have an additional fuel tank, and therefore it is smaller and weighs less than its 200 model. Due to the additional tank in the second model, it has a longer range and is larger in size.

Fokker 100 plane
Fokker 100 aircraft entered Kish International Airport in 2012. This Fokker was purchased through two intermediaries in the Netherlands and Georgia and then transferred to Iran with a register from Ukraine. The Fokker 100 was launched by a Dutch company in 1988 and was very popular in Canada and Australia, and currently Iran and Australia are among the largest Fokker airline operators.

Production of the Fokker 100 was discontinued in 1997, unable to compete with the new Boeing 737 and Airbus A318 and A319. In total, about 283 planes were produced and Iran Air purchased 16 planes and Aseman Airlines bought 20 planes of this model.

The EP-IDA model entered Iran in 1377 and is now grounded at Mehrabad Airport due to lack of access to its accessories. Nothing good happened to the EP-IDB model either. This model of Fokker 100 entered Iran in 2008, but it had an accident on January 12 of the same year. This model left Mehrabad airport for Shiraz on a snowy day; But moments after take-off, it hit the ground and caught fire, and due to the cold weather, the fire did not spread and the passengers and flight crew survived.

Fokker 100 specifications

Wing tip distance: 28.8 meters
Length: 35.53 meters
Height: 8.5 meters
Passenger capacity: from 97 to 122 people
Maximum speed: 845 km/h
Flight range: 3170 km

Fokker airplane models
Fokker 100: standard passenger model.
Fokker 100EJ: with side fuel tank.

Boeing MD-82 aircraft
This aircraft was launched in 1979. The most important feature of this model is its powerful engines. The M-D model was purchased by Kish Air and Zagros Airlines. The tank capacity of this model is 22100 liters and it has a capacity of 155 passengers. This model of the plane is suitable for high altitude airports. The 80M-D series aircraft was produced before the merger of McDonnell Douglas with Boeing; But after the merger of these two companies, you will see Boeing's name next to M-D. The JT8D-217 engine is installed in this model from the M-D series, and the flight range of the 82 model is 2050 km. Some MD models were assembled in China and operate in the airlines there.

Boeing MD-83 aircraft
The Boeing model flies in Kish Airlines and its various models have been used in Iran's air fleet for years.

Compared to the previous two models, the MD-83 is longer and heavier and is equipped with engines with more fuel capacity and power. This model has two 2140 liter fuel tanks, one at the rear and one at the front of the aircraft. With the MTOW engine, it has been able to increase its capacity to 160,000 pounds and has a capacity of 155 passengers. Reinforced wheels and more optimized brakes are used in this model to maintain balance and better landing. The production of this model continued until 1999 and 265 cars of the 83 model were produced and 18 of these models were purchased by Iran.

General characteristics of the Boeing MD aircraft

The distance between two wing tips: 32.82 meters
Length: 45.01 meters
Height: 9.02 meters
Passenger capacity: maximum 172 people
Maximum speed: Mach 0.87 (925 km/h)

The models of this generation of Boeing MD airplanes are as follows:
MD-81: Standard passenger model with fully analog cockpit
MD-82: Has an optimized engine
MD-83: More fuel carrying capacity
MD-87: Shorter body for shorter distances
MD-88: Similar to MD-82 but with more advanced digital cockpit
